This paper presents an analysis proposal of the contemporary Literature work for children and young readers Lua de Larvas [Maggot Moon], by the English writer Sally Gardner. From an approach of the structural elements of the narrative, such as character, time, space and narrator, we have thought about the possibilities of working with the book on a scholar space, specifically for Elementary School. Because of the politic and historic content, even because of the language, the book could be for adults and critical readers. Grounded on the theoretical and methodological frame of the literary literacy and on the National Curricular Guidelines (OCN's), the central aim of this paper is to think about the characteristics of this contemporary romance for the reader formation and for literature teaching. Therefore, considering the available methodologies, the Cosson’s model the basic sequence has been adapted on our educational context, at the same time that it has explored items and resources present on that dystopian work.
