Abstract

This paper conducts a reflection mainly on the way of the subject inscription in the discursive process, in order to observe the effects of sense which result from this inscription. This operation will be analyzed based on discursive fragments related to the concept of language conveyed in the studies about Portuguese language from the fifties. The selected fragments are about the works Introdução ao Estudo da Língua Portuguêsa no Brasil, and Manual de Filologia Portuguesa, both written by Serafim da Silva Neto. For this purpose, we ssume the theoretical-
methodological assumptions from Discourse Analysis of Pecheuxtian orientation and the History of the Linguistic Ideas, mobilizing especially the notion of discursive paraphrase, which allows us to understand the constitution of the senses and the subject.
