Abstract

Based on the French Discourse Analysis, we intend to interpret certain prosodic elements that affect the sense of constitution in the political discourse in Brazil. More specifically, we analyze statements of Free Political Advertising, in the 2010 presidential elections, focusing on features and vocal modulations in the speech of the candidate Dilma Rousseff. Besides participating in the construction of the effects of authenticity in her words and frankness in what is said, the voice of Dilma decisively contributes to the production of their womanhood, refuting opposing statements of a discursive formation and affirming her feminine quality as a mother and wife.
