Abstract

In this paper, we aim to highlight the discursive process that involves quotations
affiliated with the perspective of Linguistics. These quotations under investigation are the subject of our study. We emphasize quotations since it is a question that helps us to be able to observe the affiliation process which is inherent in scientific practice. Therefore, we aim to study the book Introdução ao Estudo da Língua Portuguêsa no Brasil, 1st edition, 1950, by Serafim da Silva Neto. The choice was made due to the importance of that book in the last fifty years. In this sense, this paper is based on the view of the History of Linguistic Ideas and the theoretical and
methodological principles of French Discourse Analysis , as it has been developed in Brazil.
