Abstract

Some epistemological problems about the assumptions adopted by modern Linguistics since the publication of Cours de linguistique générale are discussed in this paper. Its dichotomies are further analyzed and a review of these concepts is then proposed, which is based on new questioning brought by historical, comparative, sociolinguistic and psychological studies.
