Abstract

In order to investigate emotions in speech, specifically anger, three professional actresses (20 years in the profession) participated in the survey. The play-acted speeches were captured in the laboratory of the Studio Multimedia Electronic Computer Center of the University of São Paulo (CCE-USP), using Sound Forge 9 audio software. The software used to obtain the curve intonational average of three repetitions of anger and neutral speech was the routine ExProsodia. The average of F0 mean obtained for rage was 197 Hz and for neutral speech was 156 Hz. Anger behaves in high frequency bands, while the F0 of neutral speech is located in medium frequency bands. However, the correlation was 0.88 for both conditions, showing that the linear range is nearly identical.
