Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between the manifestation of templates and ;babbling by assuming a dynamic perspective of development. After analysing longitudinal data of three children acquiring Brazilian Portuguese as first language, we verified the influence of babbling in the emergence of templates. However, the degree of influence varied from child to child.
